Casual Saturday

Hello everyone!
My Saturday started with cleaning of my apartment and when I was finished I headed out for my run and then I started working on my costumer orders (I'm making a wedding dress, four bridesmaid dresses and another dress for a wedding) and while I was working I felt like going for a walk so I was out for 45 minuets and then I started working again. So Now I’m finished for today and I will continue tomorrow. But anyway! When I went out this is what I wore:

Jeans from Denim and Supply (Ralph Lauren), Shirt from Gap, Jacket from Forever 21, Shoes from Converse and Cap from Dodgers store in Hollywood.

Mermaid inspiration

Well I couldn't help my self, I just had to show you these water paintings a painted last year. See on my other blog, Stories By Joy (linked in the menu at the top of the page) I'm writing a story about a mermaid so I painted these to have some kind of inspiration when I started writing. It's still going slow but forward so that's a good thing!

Hello Monday!
Well, it's monday again and well I'm OK with it!

So this is not what I wore for work today but I did wear this today! Rebecca and I decided to see a movie so I wanted to freshen up a bit so this is what I'm wearing:

Making and Creating!

 

So I went to the store today after church to by some zippers for a few dresses I’m making and I got this incredible urge to make something for me.

So I walked up the spring fabrics and I spotted this floral pattern material and remembered a jacket I had seen. So I bought a couple of yards and went home and started creating!

This is the result of my creativity. Note: I haven’t made a jacket for at least 1 or 2 years so I’m pretty happy with the result!

It's still chilly out so over this,  I wore Jacket from Green Fashion and scarf from H&M.

Well I'm back and this is the product of today's shopping.
I'm terrible! BUT they were on super sale; it was half off the previous sale, so really a super sale!

I got everything els I needed too! So now I'm going to watch an episode of Teen Wolf and relax a bit before bed!

After rain comes shine!

Hello!

It's Thursday and it's finally sunny out after a day of rain and dark clouds. Oh well I'm off again to by some material for a dress and then a present for my lovely, beautiful mother. Tomorrow it's her birthday and it worth celebrating!

Lady in Black

This is another one of my designs. It's a halter neck, floor length dress maid entirely of black chiffon. I made it for a party we had in my senior year of Swedish high school.

See, in Sweden we don’t usually have prom or homecoming we have a dance in the end of ninth grade and then a dinner party with the class in the end of twelfth grade.

So for our party we had the theme mascaraed, so I just toned it down a notch and came up with this!

I named it Lady in Black, be cause it's simple. You know Simply Joy.

The Beauty of the Fern

These pictures are like two years old but I was filled with so much inspiration that summer that I actually made this dress. And as you can see, the bottom is completely made out of fern bushes. Talk about creative! The top was out of an old bedspread.

Take what you have and make it work, like Tim Gunn would say!
